UVLayout is a stand-alone application for the creation and editing of UV coordinates for 3D polymeshes and subdivision surfaces. Used by professionals in the games and visual effects industries, by hobbyists of all ilks and by students, UVLayout's unique approach gives texture artists the tools they need to produce high quality low distortion UVs in significantly less time than they would by traditional methods.
This is where we'll post general background information and news for everyone to see, plus links to the user guides, training videos and the latest software installs for registered support customers. Visit the Forum to read what other people have to say, or to post your own message. |

Digital-Tutors' DVD and online video series, Creating Digital Humans, includes 20 minutes of UVLayout; a female figure is flattened and then loaded into Maya for further tweaking. One of the sample videos for the title, Lesson #4, is in fact half of that 20 minutes!
"UVLayout is a really neat piece of software that makes something that is kind of tedious, kind of makes it a little bit more fun and definitely makes it a lot quicker, especially if you need to do pelting."
More information about the video series can be found at www.digitaltutors.com
